Greetings to all of you who have been or should have been following our H57RC journey all around the world to bring a Halifax bomber to Canada and the Bomber Command Museum of Canada.

71% of all bomber combat done by the RCAF in RAF Bomber Command in WW2 was done on the Halifax bomber!

So we have gathered-recovered from all over the world all we can to make a Halifax and it is being done, as we speak, by the special ops group called “HALIFAX 57 RESCUE”, in partnership with BCMC.

Thanks to the RAF Museum and the Yorkshire Air Museum, their special donations, we now have these MAJOR additions to the Halifax rebuild —
Left and Right outer wings. They are very good condition for their age and will be an easy fix for the restoration.

We are really “wingin’ it” this week as we have just heard from Patrick Smart yesterday SAT. in Thirsk, Yorkshire about his exciting preparations cradling-loading at his shop of the 53 feet of Halifax bomber wing, ( 2 outer wing panels – 2 X 25 feet and a 3 foot wing-tip) and they are now READY to fly across the ocean in a RCAF C-17 for delivery to Canada and inclusion in our Halifax restoration!

Have a look at the great photo shots – below – sent by Patrick of the big wings going on the steel cradles, custom designed and welded by Patrick.

WHY? — Because Patrick’s father is a DFC decorated Halifax bomber pilot, so no wonder this project and effort has such special meaning for him. Also, I cannot stop Patrick from climbing on our wings, he sees steel and high places and he reverts to his old steel worker ways. He is on a mission.

Thanks Patrick and an additional shout – out and thank you to your loading lads, “Big Ben” Clarke and Gary Robson!

Gary’s company and his boss Gilles Potter, of ”POTTER Plant Hire” are the main corporate sponsors for loading and transporting the wings on giant flat beds – lorry trailers. We have the wheels, now we have the way! Thanks Giles!

Please follow us and support us, we need your donations more than ever, all of this is costing us thousands and we do not want to slow down on our progress.

WE LEAVE NO HALIFAX BEHIND.
