The things I do for my heroes, the Bomber Boys, especially those neglected lads on Halibags who supposedly live in the shadows of WW2 bomber history exploits like the B-17 and others! Remember, RCAF 6 Bomber Group had the lowest loss rate overall, in combat, of all bomber groups of RAF Bomber Command, — and 70% of 6 Group’s bomber force was flying the HALIFAX. So Jackpot here in Crowland, NE of London UK— as we have another Hercules 216 engine courtesy of our RAF Museum friends, 2 New main gear tires, 3 tail wheels, and other treasure from Darren Speechley , plus a vertical tail fin, 5 main gear support beams to Halifax main spars, 7 more New propeller blades, and 9 feet of rear lower fuselage with tail wheel oleo and tire, plus the center core of the horizontal tail stabilizer. PLus 9 very good Hercules cylinder heads from Patrick Smart, – via Andy Ward.
We are using up our reserves of funds to get all this done, the container shipment will be $12,000. alone, plus it costs $300/ day just to get the job of hauling and loading parts. If you feel our efforts are good enough to support, NOW would be the time to send in a donation to cover these necessities of a Halifax rebuild. I think our Bomber Boys are worth it, in their memory, a Halifax!! See the items being cleaned – sorted- packed into our 20 foot cargo container in Crowland, almost ready for shipping over great waters to ”the colonies”, for our airframe and engine teams to have at ’em.
A guy wakes up in a foreign land, body clock gone all to shit, force feeds a coffee, drives on the wrong side of the road for miles, hops out of vehicle and wades into Halifax bomber history and treasure, the goal to rebuild one, —- it does not get any better than this!
People say these parts dont exist any more, how do you find them?! Well, you can — but you have to want it bad, to pay tribute to all our Bomber boys, —— so excuse me as I tote that prop and lift that tire, Halifax calls!!! See you back home next week in Nanton. KK
WE LEAVE NO HALIFAX BEHIND
